Granthams Day Preparation
- Send out reminders 1 week before and day before.
- BBQ’s (volunteers supplying and managing during event…remind them to bring drinking water, its hot at the helm) or Call SCCU and ask if they lend BBQ’s for community events.
- Tents, tarps to keep area cooler
- Ask volunteers to supply and setup
- Garbage cans with bags
- Recyle bins for can’s etc.
- Wet cloth in ziplock bag to wipe up table messes
- Paper towels (for Barbequing as well)
- Extra Chairs, Tables, Tablecloths…supply your own and ask for volunteer tablecloths etc.
- Paper napkins
- Extra serving spoons (thrift store)
- Tables for bunds and condiments (cheese, ketchup, mustard cooked onions jalapenos, lettuce, bbq sauce, hot sauce)
- Table for desserts
- Extension cords to Mark’s House
- Fence Flags at wharf area: Cheerful, powerstaple up
- Cheerful summertime music. Evie has a set up with speakers to share.
- Large Glass Water containers for lemonade and water with ice. Richard and Susan Kimm-Jones have 2 of these (owned by GWA) and take care of this usually.
- We don’t advertize that alcohol can be consumed, but folks do discreetly.
- Remind everyone to BYO plate, cup and cutlery
- Set up table with table cloth at entrance to wharf: have nametags, felt pens, money box for change for burgers.

- Tix @ $15 each
- Boat ride, tubing prize…win a 2 hour tubing package?
- Encourage local businesses to donate prizes? Kayaking, Spa, Restuarants, breweries etc.
- Swim: Kids – 3 age groups
Adult – Boogie board races
- Paddle race (crazyboat with passengers and 1 paddle only), decide route. Blow horn to start/end.
- Silly prizes – Chocolates, free t-shirts, other?
Activities Board Member – Duties
- Bounce off ideas with President before any final decisions
- Present VP ideas to President for any upcoming events, fundraisers, general thoughts and betterments for GWA before going public.
Responsible for GWA Events:
- Leading with event supplies
- Setting up
- Getting volunteers
- List making, communications with volunteers
- Creative ideas for Fundraising:
- T-shirts
- Caps
- Stickers
- Boatrides
Christmas Email (GWA wishes everyone a Happy Holiday Season) Ok’d first with President…they send out.
- collects and checks Red Mail Box at Dock area for donations and notes of interest
- keeps eye on dock, boats, confronts people if issues arise on dock.
